Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri

The game’s plot is science fiction, in which humanity has colonized the Alpha Centauri star system as a means of escaping the Solar System’s totalitarian government. The player assumes the role of Nikola Ap Io, leader of a military force that combats piracy. Missions take place in large, open environments, and the player is often assisted by AI-controlled teammates who may be given tactical commands.

The game features a variety of missions (recon, intercept, escort, search-and-destroy, even a jailbreak), environments and weather (night and day varies, rain, snow). Missions take place in massive open environments, each spanning approximately nine square kilometres, with (depending on the planet) rolling hills, mountains, ravines, roads, buildings, and bodies of water.
Terra Nova’s critical reception was highly positive, with reviewers praising the game’s tactical depth. It was intended to be the first in a series, but plans for a sequel were discontinued after the game’s poor commercial reception of only 100,000 units sold.
